I have no idea if my maybe future setup is any good

I want to build a gaming pc but I do not know if my components are any good,


My components are:


gpu    MSI GTX 970 gaming 4g


cpu    intel i5-4690 3,5 GHz


psu    cooler master G550M 500 watt


mobo MSI H97 gaming 3


case  cm storm trooper


samsung optical drive


SSD   crucial MX100 256 GB 


HDD  seagate barracuda 1TB


RAM   corsair 8 GB DDR-31600 kit


 


I have no idea if these are any good,


and like to hear some of you guys thoughts on it

I would swtich the mobo to an z97, and the cpu to  K edition of your CPU. samsung evo SSD.

 

But its nice as it is tho.  :)

ive heard those are great for overclocking but i dont want to spend extra money for stuff I dont want to use,

that said i'm not interested in overclocking my pc.

still thanks for the tips and I'll check out that SSD

Similar to mine. Will do u great :) good choice of components.

The rig is considered high-end for gaming. U will destroy any game at 1080p :) In future u can get yourself a 1440p monitor and still play games.

Some people don't need extra MHz and couple fps. His choice is reasonable. By the time he upgrades the 97 series will be incompatible with the CPUs out then.

I'd second that, get an SSD, don't bother with the unlocked cpu/z97. I got an unlocked CPU and haven't even bothered OCing it, could have saved myself about £30-40...
