Quadro or FirePro, no doubt.

 

If it's not for work, though, then you don't need any of that.

What about two r9 295X2's

The titan x with 12gb vram and being a beefy card will power it for 1/2 the price of a good tier firepro/quadro card.

Ok so when does the Titan x release and for how much?

 

Unsure of when it'll release and how much it'll be. More info should be announced March 17th I think during Nvidia's own event?

A K2200 is probably enough for photo editing.

Does he really need that 5k though?

he never mentionned is dad was gaming. Probably any graphics card could play 5k footage at 60hz if it has two dp. His dad is doing photo work so something like a titan x would do the jump for the compute power
