But based on my experience with Seagate drives, and the number of people claiming DOA's and failures in as little as a week's time2, I would definitely recommend running a scan with SeaTools or something similar upon delivery. Fortunately, it does come with a two year warranty, so if your drive does fail you should be able to get it replaced without too much hassle. 1.
