Developer Frontier has made good on its promise to honor Star Trek's Leonard Nimoy with special in-game content dedicated to the Spock actor who passed away last month at the age of 82.

As detailed in a series of images released on Imgur, Frontier has created a Vulcan planet and a "Leonard Nimoy Station" to honor the actor who had a notable influence on popular sci-fi culture.

Vulcan was the name of Spock's home planet in Star Trek. You can see the full gallery at the bottom of this post.

Developers behind Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous, two of the leading spacebound video games, have announced plans to pay their respects to Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who died Friday at the age of 83. This follows an in-game memorial for Nimoy last week in Star Trek Online.

"No petition necessary," wrote Star Citizen community manager Ben Lesnick. "I think it's safe to say that Mr. Nimoy was an inspiration to all of us on the team, both acting as Spock and because of his core, kind humanity. We will find an appropriate way to honor him."

Meanwhile, Elite: Dangerous producer executive producer Michael Brookes confirmed that his space game, too, will honor the iconic actor. "Just a heads up that there'll be a Nimoy Memorial station added in the Wings update (1.2), so the Yembo station is still open for other suggestions."

It happened because Frontier asked the community to submit names for a new community built station a week before he died, Unity station was winning by far until the day he died when Leanord Nimoy station jumped to number one in a matter of hours.

Frontier decided it would be better to give him a proper memorial and renamed a station around the already named planet Vulcan in the game so they removed him from the comp and did the rename as part of the 1.2 Wings Update.

Unity station won the competition in the end.

@Xsilent(X) thats Frontier and Elite Dangerous not Star Citizen.
