So my computer booted up and everything... But now windows 7 won't install? Any thoughts?

Could you be a bit more specific? What appears on the screen for example?

what is preventing it from installing? what does it say?

Case: Phanteks Evolve X with ITX mount  cpu: Ryzen 3900X 4.35ghz all cores Motherboard: MSI X570 Unify gpu: EVGA 1070 SC  psu: Phanteks revolt x 1200W Memory: 64GB Kingston Hyper X oc'd to 3600mhz ssd: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB ITX System CPU: 4670k  Motherboard: some cheap asus h87 Ram: 16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz

If it says "Windows cannot be installed on this Drive" go into your BIOS and change the SATA controller mode from RAID to IDE/AHCI depending on your drive.

Yes it just gets to the part where it is expanding the windows packages and then won't install

does it just lock up forever or does it give you an error message? If it gives an error message, post what it says.

If it is torrented try go to find another one, That one might have a problem...

I'm installing from a DVD and I can't remember where I got it from but I can look it up

 

you Burned it, Is what your basically saying?

It says windows cannot install the required files.

you probably need to set the hdd to ahci mode in the bios. That is more than likely your issue

No its a fresh disc that I bought

 

Then the only thing i could think of is the hard drive could have some (MAYBE! Im not a high end techie) Some Bad sectors in your drive, I have had that problem at least once before.

OK follow these Steps

 

Step 1: Boot Up Into the Bios (F2 Or Del Key)

Step 2: Go To Perheals (How ever you say it)

Step 3: Go to Sata Config,

Step 4: You should see IDE or ACHI Mode, Select ACHI Mode

Step 5 Get out of the bios by hitting the ESC Key and hit Save Settings
