How much does ram memory affect gaming?

I'll say right away i did some research on the subject.

But still, opinions are a mixed bag. Im running 1333Mhz low profile memory and my gaming experience is quite satisfying. I mean it's super great.

The question is. Would i greatly benefit from having high speed memory compared to my 1333 one. I seen videos on youtube and some articles saying it would be marginal like 2-3 fps in gaming. It's rather interesing because of all these people making gaming builds and dishing out top dollars for high speed memory. Even tho it doesn't give them much other than "cool" factor. Someone elaborate please.

Higher-speed RAM doesn't really affect gaming performance by a noticeable margin, unless you're using integrated graphics.

It doesn't affect a ton if you are running a system with a dedicated GPU.

speed in terms of gaming is negligable. you can get away with ddr3 1333mhz just as well with crazy 3000+ mhz ram.

in terms of capacity you can get away with 4-8 gigs, the reccomendation is 8. 

 

of you have an APU or plan on using internal graphcis untill you have a better GPU then go ahead and get faster ram.

In Valley it gave me a 100 points more. So a 3 to 4% difference when going from 1600Mhz to 1866Mhz Ram. 1333Mhz is fine, but I would always get 1600Mhz. Cost just as much. And don't go under 8gb, it is such a pain to work with 4gb.

The speed of it does not have an affect unless you are using an APU.

The amount does not have an affect unless you have too little RAM, I'd say 8-12GB is enough for most people. (Planning to upgrade to 16GB from 8GB soon as I tend to run a private modded minecraft server on my rig for testing purposes and screwing around with friends, while running the game with 128x, 256x, or 512x texture packs + sometimes shaders, while having google chrome (5+ tabs), skype, steam, and a few other programs open in the background)

The difference between 8gb of 1333mhz and 32gb of 3133mh of memory is approximately nothing in 99% percent of games. The only thing I have heard of with even the slightest impact of high speed ram is bf4 and that is only about 1-2fps.

no it will not change, and yes we might be using faster memory but only because it often cost about the same if you find a good deal..

buying higher clocked memory wouldnt really do much, unless youre using an APU.
