Actually, there isn't any money wasted. This would be a nice build for a workstation/stream/game machine.

With two GTX 980s the 144Hz monitor makes sense.

The 4TB HDD space makes also sense, for editing videos.

It's overall just a high end build.

Or do you have any idea, how you could get the same performance with less money? And don't tell me he should've used 970s...  <_<

Yeah that was the idea.

No video editing tho. I plan on using the ssd as a boot drive and putting the HDDs in RAID 1. I think 2 TB of backup is more than enough for me but I want it secure. I was thinking about RAID 10 but I think having 4 HDDs in my machine is too much. But what do you think?

It's not bad if you actually need it, but I have to ask:

-Do you need the hexcore i7, X99, and 16 GB of RAM?

-Do you need 4 TB of storage, but only 256 GB of SSD space?

-Do you need 10 fans?

-Do you need a fan controller?

-Do you need a dedicated soundcard?

An i7-4790K, Z97, and 8 GB of RAM will perform pretty much the same in games, and will save you a substantial amount of money.

I would suggest a larger SSD, especially if you want to install games to the SSD.

10 fans is absurd.

The motherboard's onboard fan controller will be more than good enough for a reasonable amount of fans.

The motherboard's onboard audio should probably be good enough unless you're a hardcore audiophile.

Edit: nvm about 4 TB.. 2 TB RAID 1 it is.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

If you don't edit videos, then get rid of the X99 build. Z97, i7-4790k (or i5,4690k), 8-16GB DDR3 RAM -  done.

Edit: I've just seen the 10 fans... The 760T can only fit 6 fans. I've it sitting right next to me.

it's good forgood gaming rig, if you got the cash, don't get too hyped about overspending on something like this beacuse there are some good perks to this, few things i'd give you a bump on is Asus got a second Xonar card STX 2 which sounds better & Blu ray drive is optional unless you really want it, but it's essential, 7.1 channel headset is kind a meaningless according to some, so might wanna research on that a bit more..That's all, other than that  a good build log,

Details separate people.

Oh yeah I kinda just threw a bunch of fans in the cart cause I wanted extras for whatever reason but yeah that was kinda dumb of me.

Can you tell me exactly how many 120mm and 140mm fans I need for the best fan configuration. (Or any other fan size if I'm missing something.)

And do you think the $50 is a waste of money. its the nicest one I found online.

Well, you were right about the performance.

But I don't like that you ignored the personal preferences of him. Things like the mouse, the amount of monitors and the case a mostly subjective.

This isn't bad but it isn't exactly what I want.

-First off the 5960x is a waste of money for me. The 5820 is all I need.

-The mobo isn't as high quality, doesn't have built in WiFi, and doesn't match my case

-I can understand that my RAM is overpriced but it matches my case.

-The crucial ssd looks cheap compared to samsung.

-Zotac 980s have horrible reviews and 3 of them is a little much but ok. I would just use EVGA FTW instead.

-I don't want the entoo pro. The 760t looks so much better it is worth an extra 50-60$.

-I understand I have an OP PSU but it is really good quality and has Corsair Link

-I don't want 3 monitors, only 2. These monitors you posted are completely inferior in quality to mine. They are only 1080p, i want 1440p.

-I don't understand why everyone likes the G502, the roccat Tyon and so many other mice look way better.

-I want the astro so I can use on my xbox one as well. And even if I did get a Sennheiser product I would buy the 363d because they are nicer quality.

Couldn't even see the price, cause PCPP is broken for me here in Germany. It doesn't show US-shops.

But ppl spend millions on cars, so why not spend thousand on a PC? :)

I don't need and wouldn't want to use 3 monitors anyway.

2 monitors in 1440p is better in my eyes to 3 in 1080p

you are sacrificing quality for an extra monitor I don't even want

If you have already made up your mind, what is the point of this post?

To see if there were any major flaws I was overlooking. I also was unsure about the fan situation. I am also not fully sure of my HHD storage decision either. What I was sure of was what monitors I want.
