If you are asking about TDP then the GTX Titan X is not for you...

If you are willing to spend....oh $1200+ on a single graphics card, power and money should NOT be a limitation.

EDIT:

You're running a Alienware PC....currently with a GTX 745 4GB OEM.

Will the Titan X even fit in your computer case?

The X51 R2 doesn't use standard ATX power supplies.

You can't say people are "dumb" because they want the best.

What if people want to do 4K surround?

It's like you, you bought a 5960X. Rampage V Extreme and 32GB of Dominator Platinum. Why did you buy the best option available? Is that dumb as hell?

Maybe people need the business related features that don't want to pay $1500+, are you saying they're dumb?

Sorry, but it has to be said. People may disagree with me, but you can't just call people dumb because they want the best option available and are willing to spend that much money.

You're totally out of context. What I meant was, If you have the money to buy the Titan X should also have the hardware or the money to buy the hardware needed to support it UNLESS you're dumb as hell buying a Titan X and completely ignoring the other factors

I am a professional developer

well hello there fellow dev. Considering your a dev. you probably already have the right hardware to power this thing considering the titan X only requires one 8pin and 6pin. "The dumb as hell" part is for people who are stupid enough to spend all their money on a Titan X when they don't have the hardware necessary to run it.

and to answer your question the rumored TDP is around 184 slightly higher than the other Maxwell cards.

oh and there's a quote option in the bottom of each post to help you. You used the wrong one that's mostly used for outside sources.

Power is a limitation as the X51 R2 uses an external power source (i.e. like a laptop's power brick).

The GTX Titan X is a large 2-slot card. You also need some room below it for airflow, hence, you need MORE than 2 expansion slot spacing. Not only that, it is MUCH longer than your existing GTX 745 OEM.

The graphics card itself will likely costs more than your entire system...

Since you are a developer and such, and are looking to upgrade your graphics card (you mentioned the GTX 980 as well in one of your other posts), might just consider migrating your system OUT of your X51 chassis. This way, your limitations are essentially removed, and ddditionally, this will allow more upgradeability / modularity of your system.

** If your Alienware uses a proprietary motherboard, you'll need to swap that out with a ATX compliant board as well (since your power supply is not ATX).

You can re-use all your other components (Processor, RAM, DVD-RW, Hard Drive, etc).
