Google Chrome....

Go to solution Solved by DaedalusOS,

So it got to the point where I just wan't going to put up with it anymore, so I re-installed Windows. Working fine now.

I've been using Google Chrome since I first started using a computer, and I refuse to go to anything else. I've tried Mozilla Firefox, but I'm not a fan...

Basically, i can be on Google Chrome, visit this site, visit other sites, etc, just fine, but when it has to use Flash Player for something, it either works just fine, lags, or freezes chrome for about 30+ seconds, over and over. Its isolated to Chrome, as I can watch anything on Firefox just fine.

I assume that its an issue with Flash since it really only happens when I watch YouTube, which I do a whole lot of. It also happens sometimes on Netflix, and even when I just pull up a gif on Imgur.

I've search all over and I can't seem to really find anything that has solved my issue.

What I've tried:

- Re-Installed Twice (Currently on the 64-bit beta)

- Disabled Chromes built in Flash Player and I'm using the one that I've installed (Yes, its the official Adobe one)

- Disabled AdBlock (Didn't work so I re-enabled it)

Its just so weird. I NEVER had an issue with Chrome back on my AMD build, but its happened ever since I first installed it on my new Intel build.

Any ideas?

I'd say Chrome is the problem. When you "uninstall" Chrome, you can go in your User/appdata folder and see that nothing has actually been deleted.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

None of the things you listed use Flash. Youtube uses HTML5, Netflix uses Silverlight, and a gif is just a gif. I had some issues like this once and I was able to resolve it by switching which release of Chrome I was using. When this happened to me, I went from the Dev version to Beta. But if you are using the Stable version, maybe try Chrome Beta? If that doesn't fix the problem, you can try playing with Chrome's flags to force hardware acceleration and what not, but be warned, some of those settings can be unstable.

 Well I look stupid...

I removed Flash. It sill happened. I went from the 64 bit beta back to the stable, still happening. I uninstalled Chrome, went through and deleted every Google folder on my PC, still the same issue.

2 things I couldn't figure out how to do:

Force hardware acceleration (Although using it is on in the settings)

Going back a Chrome version (I couldnt find anything on how to go back versions)

Any more ideas?

Old versions of Chrome can be found around the internet. One user online pointed me here: http://www.filehippo.com/download_google_chrome/history. I'm assuming those links are legit, but tread lightly downloading anything that isn't from Google or Chromium.org. When you get the new (older) version, go into the settings and disable auto updates. As for forcing hardware acceleration, you can go to chrome://flags and fiddle with stuff in there. However, be warned, messing with the flags could cause Chrome to be unstable (in some cases, very much so) and what flags are available will change across different versions of Chrome.

Those download links just redirect me to the official Chrome download, which downloads the most recent one. I was able to force hardware acceleration, but that didn't help either. Chrome still freezes, and the audio keeps playing.

Any other ideas? :/

have you tried it with hardware acceleration off? undo the force hw acceleration and just uncheck use hardware acceleration when available in settings and see if that works.... also when did this start happening?

Right after I installed it for the first time. I did initially install it from my Maximus VII Formulas disc, and it was an older version of Chrome. But its been uninstalled and re-installed so many times now I doubt thats a factor.

And yes I have tried it without acceleration. It still happens and it starts to screen tear when scrolling in Imgur.
