4K Gaming, Single Gtx 980 vs Sli

greetings!

 

im planing to buy a 4K monitor (Philips BDM4065UC/00 40") in a few weeks (have dell U3011 now)

 

my system is

i7 5930K

Asus X-99 delux

16gb ddr4 2133mhz

CM silent pro m2 850W

samsung 500gb 840 evo

and a single EVGA GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0

 

im currnetly playing games like diablo 3, lost planet 3, mass effect trilogy, lichdom battlemage... and minecraft :P

 

is there any point / good ide for me to get a second 980 when moving to 4k?

Yes, especially if you plan on running the latest AAA games at 60fps on Ultra settings

 

for the game you listed a single 980 should be ok

for those gamea single 980 is good but if you want filter or other games 2. 980 is really good for it

put it this way I can play any game to own even new titles at medium to h8gh settings with a single 2gb gtx770

980 is a waste for 4K, 290X still kicks its ass at high resolutions considering the price gap.
