I would recommend that you put aside maybe $50-100 per month until you can afford said computer, as lease-to-own products will cost you much more in the longrun.

just save the money that you would use for the monthly payments and build it when youve saved enough

you could just try to buy one component a month if you plan on building it.

don't do it, imagine buying a 970 and then a better cheaper card gets released

but that would mean I have to wait a couple of months... Ain't nobody got time for dat.

You can wait.

If you really want, you could seek a "short term" (as in, like, 12-month term) loan, but you probably wouldn't even qualify, unless you were an adult and had credit history (I'm assuming neither of those apply).

Frankly, just save up. You'd be wasting a lot of money otherwise.

I know how you feel, but just be patient. Work hard, and continue to saveup as much as you can.

Getting a loan is going to cost more then just saving up, and end up with you regretting your decision.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

If you only want to practise the building process but don't really need the top most hardware, get used PC for sub-$100. Take it apart and build it back again. Just that will be good experience. Or you can start with scrapbuild and upgrade it part-by-part. Or just get a job and save for it.

As long as you have a financing plan that has little or NO interest if the product is paid in full within their specified time frame, and are SUPER 100% ON IT as far as having it paid off before then, you'll be fine. If you don't have it all paid off within the bank's time frame, the interest rate will be through the roof.

But it's generally less stress or hassle to just save each month and pull the trigger all at once. And also, unless the vendor has a special agreement with a bank (see: Apple & Barclays), you'll need a good credit history for loans.

You could give PayPal credit a try. They should cover a portion of it depending on your credit. Usually they offer no interest if paid within 6 months. Then for whatever other parts you need try getting a bestbuy card and try to find no interest deals. However, I do recommend just saving up and paying in cash. Much better IMO, it's what I did.
