"Wolfenstein: The New Order was a hell of a good game, which received lots of praise, and showed that “old school” shooters still can do extremely well in the current market and actually be a hell of a lot of fun. Today Bethesda announced a standalone prequel to last years critically acclaimed shooter. The new standalone prequel is called Wolfenstein: The Old Blood."

it says stand alone...... but I didn't see where it said no internet required........... so I guess it won't be "The Old Blood"..??

Standalone means NOT DLC/ADDON, but a separate game altogether.

Another actual product...I like me some Wolfie games, keen as for more.

I know what stand alone means.......... I also know what "old school" ( old blood ) means. I'd rather have a game on a disc that I can install anywhere at any time and not have to worry about being connected to the net, ever. It's all BS.

I'm replying to those that come here afterwards & have NFI what standalone means... hence why I wrote it.

 

I too would rather have not worry ever about the net being connected so I can launch the game, let alone the 3rd party programs required to launch games...

I hate it, but it will only get worse.

Well, they didn't support SLI on The New Order, and if this game doesn't again, I won't play it.

Just play it on a single GPU, its still a fantastic game!

The new wolfenstien was one of the first single player games in a LONG time I have finished all the way through. Really enjoyed the story to it.

it is a Bethesda game so it will need steam.even if if there was a disc version it would need steam. having a game on disc is nice but physical media breaks. plus last time i tried i was able to play steam games without internet. last time i tried to play one of my older disc games it was dead.

that's funny. All my "old" discs run fine. I can also run them without internet. Amazing actually OWNING something (software) you purchase.

 

Maybe you should try a different cd-rom drive? Every once in a while I'll find a burned disc that won't run on one drive but will on another. might have something to do with the laser??
