I'm at $783.91 without tax and my limit is $800 with tax.

I need wifi and a good graphic card that won't consume so much energy and yes this will be a gaming pc.

Anyway to improve this rig? That would be great!

the greater concern is that power supply. don't get me wrong, I love the CX430. I have two of them, but I wouldn't trust it to run a high end GPU on the long term. you need at least a 500 watt power supply.

i highly suggest going used that that price point

find a used r9 290 for about $200 or less, if power consumption is really all that big of a deal, a 780/770 used for $200 is a better deal imho.

you can get a cheaper atx case, and switch to a i3 for more savings

I want to stick with the 970 just for future games later on and I can switch to an i3 the question is could will games be fine or not? Most games want quad core.

the i3 will perform near the same as a i5 because it has the hyper threading, but its half the price

maybe, but it was the same price as a 1600mhz kit and i figured "free performance"
