[Build Log] Bit Accelerator - CaseLabs S5 / ASUS M7G / Sapphire R9-290X *Completed*

sh4d0wt3ch
This build is to create a rig with a smaller footprint while still maintaining comparable performance to my former 900D based machine. It aims to have the same functionality in a smaller form factor. After looking through a lot of options for a mATX chassis I chose the CaseLabs Mercury S5 for the modularity and its ability accommodate both a 360 mm and a 240 mm radiators.

I have been waiting for the case as I have ordered it last January 18 and it shipped out just last Feb 23. Now it's on its way to sunny and sandy Dubai.  ;)

You're from Dubai?

Why not cool it with Oil? (stereotipical joke , no offense)

How much did you pay to ship everything?

:D on oil cooling. All EKWB items have been bought directly from their. I can't remember how much I paid for shipping those. But for the CaseLabs S5, I paid 130 USD just for the shipping. That's half of the case base price.

HyperX Fury maybe?

(2x8gb White) + (2x8gb Red) = 4 Dimms (32gb)

It would look like this

That's a great idea, but right now I am working to get RAM from a vendor. Maybe I'll swing that way if it didn't turn out the way I wanted to be.

Cable Sleeving: Switch Panel and Pump

I removed the old sleeving from the default CaseLabs panel switch.
switch-01.JPG

Sleeved it with black sleeving all the way to the connectors
switch-02.JPG

I also started shortening and sleeving the EKWB D5 Pump combo. I also crimped in ATX pins to replace the Molex connector

I opted for an S5 as I wanted to do an mATX build. I wanted to create a build with a smaller footprint as I was getting tired of my 900D. One more thing it costs me 50% of the price just for shipping of the S5 towards Dubai, I'm pretty sure S8 would cost a lot more.  :)

Ultimately I bent the tubing by freehand as I feel it is way easier for me.
