Why do people say Intel is better for gaming if somebody who posts asking for an editing build never gets an AMD CPU in their lists?

most games arent optimized for many cpu cores. amd tends to have more cores but they are less powerful. the games will take better advantage of the fewer more powerful intel cores so they work better for gaming

Why do people say Intel is better for gaming if somebody who posts asking for an editing build never gets an AMD CPU in their lists?

There are times when an AMD cpu is the better choice for rendering -- it's just not usually the case.

But saying Intel is better than AMD (at the same price point)  simply isn't true 100% of the time as an FX8 will beat a locked i5 in rendering. Although a Xeon can usually be had for not too much more than an FX8 giving it the lead. And an FX6 will beat an i3 in rendering.

Okay. I know. I didn't ask why Intel is better than AMD for gaming. I asked why people SAY that. "Intel is better for Gaming." as if Intel isn't better for Editing. Yet builds lists here would still say that. What is AMD better for? Nothing? Then say AMD is worthless.

That depends on how much money people have for an editing build. If they have over a $800 budget then they can surely afford an intel CPU that performs better than any AMD CPU, but for someone looking to build a budget editing machine, a cheap AMD CPU with lots of cores can be beneficial

But usually people building editing machines have a large budget

AMD FX 9590 cause MORE CORES with a reference 290 GPU cause 4GB VRAM all powered by a 300w Leadman PSU cause AMD SO COOL AND EFFICIENT!!!!

All joking aside....1200$ can get you a nice Intel build.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

No offense, but AMD CPU's are good budget CPU's. Their top tier CPU's are about as good as the low end i5's...

1. At the moment Intel is the best choice, with an i3 for low budgets or a locked i5 (no K in their name) for mid to high budgets.

2. Asking this question is a bit risky as loads of people who defend AMD products rabidly for completely illogical reasons.

They are on par with a cheaper i3, simple.

That makes me pissed, mine only had a 1TB HDD and a GTX 650Ti OC 2GB for an extra $100. (The PSU came with the $50 case).

Nope custom built. Though I had to specify the GTX650Ti as it originally had no dGPU. The i7 model priced at an extra $500 only had another 8GB RAM, GTX650 (1GB non Ti), 60GB SSD and a 750W PSU, so at least I didn't get totally ripped off.

I am wondering what CPU cooler to get. Corsair 100i or Noctua DH-D15

The newer H100i GTX is great but the NH-D15 provides the same amount of cooling and can be even quieter.

Looks good, but why the AOC monitor? Just personal preferences, I guess? The rest of the parts look great, though :D
