I normally choose Intel because I've had better experience.  But people have different luck  with different brands sometimes.  And while intel is newer and often faster, they are more expensive and don't offer as much cores.

So choose wisely.

if oc get h100 but if not then noctua

The Noctua will perform just as well as the H100 . The H100 will be a lot louder with the stock fans. Corsair software is buggy as hell also. The Noctua is bigger and the H100 looks better imo. I owned both recently.

You can't be serious.  Hyperthreading is a market joke?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/9x9qQ7I was thinking kinda more in this direction because I wanted a scheme of red/black. Also my mom is going to buy my monitor so.

You realise that the case you have chosen doesn't have a window ? So a colour scheme is kind of pointless  :)

If your mom is buying the monitor does that mean we can take it out of the $1200 budget ?

There are times when an AMD cpu is the better choice for rendering -- it's just not usually the case.

But saying Intel is better than AMD (at the same price point)  simply isn't true 100% of the time as an FX8 will beat a locked i5 in rendering. Although a Xeon can usually be had for not too much more than an FX8 giving it the lead. And an FX6 will beat an i3 in rendering.

It's true 95% of the time, at least. Video rendering, or plainly repetitive calculations, are the only areas I've seen the FX-8350 pass an i5 up in benchmarks, but as you mentioned, a Xeon can likely be had for an additional $40-60 to whatever you'd spend on AMD, and offer a much better gaming experience.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

When DirectX12 comes out, compare Intel and AMD then. It'll be interesting to see how FX-83xx series perform

Ikr, because it also means that my Core 2 Duo E8500 will be a lot more interesting at 4.42GHz (where it is fast as my i5 4440 in single threaded tasks).

a few years ago there was a battle going on between Intel vs AMD, if your building new now then most people would say Intel as its more futureproof and lots of m/board available for them.

AMD haven't made anything new after the FX AM3+ series in the high end CPU product, its a shame but for now Intel with its pricing is what most people are going for.

AMD can still perfrom ok, if only they would drop the prices to less than $80 for a FX 6300 or 8350 then you would get a different selection of customers on budget builds. they would be better off selling in numbers at a lower price. but don't, and as Intel has reduced over the years now its afforable to get an intel CPU that has more futureproof, performance etc.

got to love Asus components

I think that in regards to the current prices of the FX 6xxx and FX8xxx CPUs, AMD can't really lower them without sacrificing profitability.
