Upgrading PC GFX & SSD

I am currently looking to upgrade my pc below is the current spec.

Case Coolmaster Elite 430 Mid Tower w Side Panel

CPU i7 3770 3.4ghz 8mb cache

Motherboard Asus P8Z77-V LX2

RAM 8GB (2x4gb) DDR3/2133mhz Kingston HyperX Predator w Heatspread

GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660Ti 2GB

HDD 2 TB HDD (7200rpm)

I am wanting to add in an SSD and replace the current graphics card.

I am in England and was looking at using overclockers.co.uk to purchase my parts.

The Nvidia 970 gfx which I am wanting comes with a lot of different models on the website though, can anybody recommend which one I should look out for? Also is there any specific SSD cards I should be looking for? I am not wanting to spend more than £320 on a gfx card and about £150 on an SSD.

Is there also anyway I can check these will be compatible with my motherboard?

Thanks for any help.

Why are you recommending a 970 over a 8 gb 290x :(

8GB is silly at 1080p.

It is NOW.

He asked for a 320 pounds card , thats the best 300 pound card for the price simply put.

The 970 isnt the best bang for the buck anymore.

Not now.

YES.

I agree. I looked around a bit myself and that 8 GB 290X is the best deal out there, even though there are some deals on 970's as well, that 290X is the best one if you ask me. Go for it.

is a 290X the way I should be going instead of the 970? I am not the most clued up on these things unfortunately. Thanks for all the replies so far.

If you're going to take the 290X, which is a great deal. You should get much better monitor. At least 2560x1440. You might be able to do 3440x1440.

Other than that...970 :)

Thanks, Think I will take up the 290x deal along with the original SSD card zappion linked. The pc will be getting used for games no editing of any sort. I have been wanting better performance for BF4 and want to be ready for BF Hardline and other games. Hoping whichever graphics card I get will last me another 2 years before I upgrade again.
