Need a new phone.

So after 3 years my nexus 4 has finally died on me and no longer functions. It's time for me to buy a new phone. Can you guys recommend me something that's worth the money right now? I really liked my nexus 4 and I would like to get something like it if not better. Thank you so much guys. Money isn't the issue as long as it isn't around $600

Wait till March. The One M9 and S6 are both coming out then. Prices on other phones may drop, especially the One M8 or S5 and if you like one of those two new phones there's that option as well.

I personally don't like their phones either, but some people do, so I'm at least putting that option out there.

The hardware is normally pretty solid but software is just absolute trash. It doesn't age well at all. Samsung phones don't last!

The newest version of TouchWiz ("S5 style" KitKat) is a major step up. It's actually usable now.

 

Seriously, my TW KK Galaxy Avant (Snapdragon 400) is noticeably smoother and more responsive to use daily then my TW KK Note 3 (Snapdragon 800).

Not really, it's just as capable today as the M7 which isn't mind blowing compared to the new flagships that are out there.

 

Even the Zenfone 2 will outperform it, it's only good in the case that for some reason you need a 6" phone and can't afford a Nexus 6...

Im in a similar situation, look at the nexus 6, not 4 and upcoming m9, lg g3 and lg g flex 2
