Whenever I try to eject my external USB drives, I get the error "Cant eject - device currently in use. Close program or window thay might be using device, and then try again."

I disabled indexing on both drives since I thought that might be causing an issue, but that wasnt the case. My other assumption is specific processes, but I wouldn't know which one to end.

Could any else cause the issue?

Pull it out

Something might be referencing it, but if you know you are t currently writing anything to it just pull it out. It's not a hard disk.

It only happens with my external HDD's. My thumb drives and memory cards do not have this issue.

Sometimes its because of antivirus. Try to disable realtime protection.

I did this already. My anti virus was preventing me from opening certain files off of my drives before.

You can log off of your account and it will stop the activity. You can then either unplug it, or log back in and disconnect it from your computer then unplug if you prefer.

That is what I've been doing, but sometimes its inconvenient to do so.
