4K Youtube Stutter with 4K display

Go to solution Solved by ItsFTP,

Try a 64 bit browser:
Chrome: Google canary

Firefox: Firefox nightly, Waterfox

I've been trying to play 4K video from Youtube and it keeps stuttering.

I've tried everything that I could think of but it still keeps stuttering.

I'm using Chrome and I'm playing on a 50" Samsung HU6950 4K TV with HDMI 2.0 enabled.

With hardware acceleration on 1080p plays buttery smooth but it stutters at 4K

With hardware acceleration off 1080p stutters a bit and it still stutters at 4K

I don't think it's my hardware because I have an i7 5820k @4.4 GHz and dual GTX 980s in SLI and it handles 4K video perfectly with VLC and games at 4K 60 fps work perfectly as well.

I tried some 4K 30fps sample video that was 100mbit and it was smooth and 4K 60 fps video at 130mbit and that was smooth as well.

I'm at a loss on what else to try.

I even did a clean install of the latest video drivers.

Anyone else know how to fix this?

EDIT: I forgot to add this before. My internet speeds should be plenty fast as well. I have Google Fiber with 1Gb down and up.

Does it happen with other browsers too?

Do you have HTML5 enabled?

I tried it with firefox as well but it doesn't show a 4k option on the videos.

How can I check if I have HTML5 enabled?

In chrome if I right click on the video it says it's running the HTML5 player.
