Do I need 144hz?

I want a new monitor for my new pc but I dont really know if I need a 144hz one since Im by far not a hardcore gamer, and I only sport a Gtx 970 anyway so is it worth it?

For now I only need a 1080p panel since I dont really need more (maybe I get the Samsung 4k in the future).

Maybe you also have some recomendaciones?

No need for 144Hz if you are not a hardcore gamer.

Go for 60Hz IPS or something instead

Hello German, No you dont "need" 144hz. 144hz is nice if you can hit it in games. You wont hit 144 fps with 970 in like bf4,ryse,crysis. but it will be smooth to have a higher than 60hz panel.

 

If you play alot of CS or league (games that arent demanding) then i would buy a 144hz monitor.

Not a hardcore gamer, has a GTX 970 :P

There is no reason not to get one, unless your on tight budget.
