Sudden FPS Drop in Dying Light

Go to solution Solved by Altecice,

Its a bug with the game, not with your computer :(

Hi! I have a GTX 970 G1 gaming, i5 4690k, and 8Gb 1600Mhz RAM, and when I play Dying light, there's usually no problem with it but every time I open doors where zombies would surprisingly appear, I get a really bad stutter, the fps drops to 1 or 3 FPS for maybe 3 seconds, which is very disappointing since usually, after the stuttering is gone, I've already missed the part. Does anyone else experience this kind of problem?

System:

Intel Core i5 4690k @ 3.5Ghz, MSI z97 PC Mate, Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming, 4x2 Kingston HyperX blu 1600Mhz, 1 Tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm, Corsair CX600M PSU, Corsair AF120 Performance edition 3x, Xigmatek Stock fans 3x, Xigmatek Mach PC Case, Asus VX239H 1080p IPS LED 23".

Funnily enough I think it fits the name of the game.

High fps is 'the light'

And it's dying..

OK bad joke

I get a stable 60 FPS with everything maxed out in game, the problem with mine is FPS drops tremendously every time a "Surprise Zombie" appears which lasts 3 - 4 seconds. Very frustrating! The FPS drops are present in I don't know, "Semi-cut scenes"?

yep that's what I meant I still get stable 60fps when maxed out. problem is it drops when I'm about to hit a zombie. 60 then drops to 23 after a few seconds goes back to 60. pretty sure it's the game and not our hardware.

Well that's a relief! I thought I made a bad decision getting GTX 970 instead of GTX 980. 980's are a lot more expensive here in the Philippines! Phew!

Turn off all the specific nvidia settings and it goes away.

I get like 110fps on 1080p but as soon as I grapple a zombie or go near a spitter I get like 5fps.

turning off the 2 or 3 nvidia settings made it all go away

Mine is down to 5 FPS

what the hell with this game.

It doesnt even look so good at all.

Metro is far betterlooking than this game and i still can get a constant FPS around 45-55 on highst setting.

And...

Even the ACU runs a lot better on my PC
