New Build for Bedroom

Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

You shouldn't really need to go 5th Gen. Just get a good overclock on a 4790K and be done?

I don't know if you should wait for 300 series or not.

So I already have a beast of a setup as shown in my sig. But that setup is unfortunately in another room due to the fact that my bedroom has a lot of stuff in it and practically my desk cant handle three monitor setups. So i finally saved up some money through my resourcefulness and Fortunately my dream monitor the ROG swift is now currently available here in PH. So I would't have the problem of ordering on neighboring countries to get parts like my 5960x which i had to order from japan. This rig is for Gaming only and probably Some light video editing hence the 5930k but maybe I should go for a 4790k. the only thing set in stone here is the 850 pro and the 860i. Also should I wait for the 300 series from amd? and get an awesome freesync monitor?

not really, i have really good source of income. I sort of accept outsourced jobs from a few dev companies here. plus the rampage V was a gift so it also forced me to buy a 5th gen

yeah i really should go for the 4790k.

If just for gaming and light editing save yourself around $1000 and go with a i7-4790k

true. I already have a  machine for my rendering and dev needs.

Hell come to think of it rather than going SLI 980s why not spend a little more than a single 980 and get a R9 295x2 or CF R9 290x's

Sorry, rule of thumb don't trust strangers :) . But the 980's in sli is a good choice to max out the rog swift. I can also wait for the Titan II or whatever it's called. Since I need the benefits and I can just swap those into my main rig and the two 980's into this one.

Yeah, I doubt that the Titan II will be any mind blowing.

If you don't trust strangers why are you asking them for help on a build :P JK

go with a 5920k becuse the only 2 places where a 5930k is better is that it has a little higher clock (but easy to overclock so it is the same) and it has more pci lanes but the x99 delux has a plx chip that handle pci lanes so the 5920k is just as good in that bord with overclock
