Using a fan splitter on a motherboard

Any downside? Would the fans all work at same speed? If so can the speed chosen from bios reflect on all the fans?

They will work are about the same speed, and changing the fan speed in the BIOS will affect all fans on the splitter

Down side is that if you connect too many fans you can burn out your motherboard fan header

You'll probably be fine unless you trying to use some really power hungry fans. You would have to check the documentation on your motherboard to be sure, but most motherboard fan headers are good for about 1 amp.

Not exactly.  They will each draw about the same amount of current, depending on the specifics of each motor that might equal different fan speeds.  Worst thing about this is that the differences in airflow can lead to greater noise.

To get equivalent performance best to use all fans of same brand/type on any given header.

I was assuming all the fans in the build would be the same, in which case they would all run at the same rpm +-10% like normal
