Why I "hate" on the Corsair RM

Aniallation

Why i like my RM PSU:

Flat cables that allows me to close the back panel,

Completely silent,

Good performance.

They are not bad PSUs so you don't hate because of that. You probably hate them because there are many people who recommend them.   You have the beats syndrome hahaha :)

And Fractal + Noctua syndrome.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III

I agree with you on Noctua, but I think blanket recommendations of the Define R5 are not too unfounded for anyone looking for a case between $110-$150.

Unless they're looking to use a 240/280 AIO. Opening the moduvents creates way too many dust control problems...

Yeah, for that price, get an Enthoo Luxe or Pro for watercooling

You guys need to understand that the Define R5 is one of the best silent cases and that's what it makes it good. The enthoo pro is way louder and bulkier than the Define R5, but the R5 still manages to have almost no compromises.

If you don't care about sound, then it's fine. However if you've ever got a silent case and you hate noise, then you'll understand why the Define R5 deserves all the hype.  IMHO

Same thing goes for noctua too.

How much did they pay you?

(jk i agree)

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

To be honnest, I should have got a CX version, but I wanted red coloring on my PSU so I chose an AX...

Antec HCG is red

Honestly there are legitimate reasons to get a Define R5, it's just that there were so many people who just bought into the pure hype of it.

Well, between the RM750 and the CX750, I would still had gone for the RM. But yeah, AX760 is still a better option than both.

well I got my RM1000 for under $140, so even if the price/performance is not the best, for that price, I'd say its worth a name brand, 1000 watt gold rated psu. I'm happy with it nonetheless.

But the RM has better performance, but at the low end, the RM units arent that badly priced

those are place holders while I wait for the 300 series and decide between a 980/980Ti or an R9 380X/390X.

Even for those cards a 1000 watt psu is way overkill, I'm well aware, but I don't plan on upgrading for a long time.

Have had both the RM and the SuperNova, the RM was better for me. Both performed like they should, powered my build, and was completely stable, but the RM didn't have an annoying fan, like the SuperNova. I got two SuperNovas RMA'd until I decided to go RM instead, for only about 7£ more (750W for both of them). I did fear it would cause some instabilities, but nothing so far, just a dead silent powersupply.
