TV Tuner help. Have a set top box and trying to watch live tv on my pc

It says HP but it is actually a Hauppauge WinTV HVR 1260 

 

I let windows install the drivers for me since the seller did not provide any driver cd etc but I think its the wrong one as Windows 8.1 shows up as Hauppauge 723x BDA ATSC/QAM Tuner 

 

Now the set top box that was given to me by my dorm housing has coaxial and the red,white, yellow and s-video cables. I have tried both options but for some reason NextPVR and SichoPVR cannot find any channels. 

 

Any tips?

I'm afraid I may not be of much help. I used the software that came with mine, though you should be able to find the software on the manufacture's website. I run from my cable box through S-Video cables to my Hauppauge 2250. When you install the software, it installs WinTV. Through the WinTV software you can select the device, then select Tuner Setup. From there you just search Digital, Analog, or S-Video inputs and it automatically found all my channels.
