what is the minimum graphics card you recommend from gtx and r9 to drive it? i might get two one for my editing rig, and my dad

R9 280

GTX 970

I have an Asus MX299Q (2560x1080) and my mates 280 sometimes gets a stuttery playing triple A games on it.

If its just Source games, than it isnt an issue.

For AAA games a 290 if you want to max them out (within reason). If you're just playing games like CS:GO, even an R9 270 will do fine.

Would it bottleneck? 290 x 8350? I don't play a lot of AAA or plan to max out settings , mostly just graphic design

It'd crush 1440p for those uses.

what do you mean crush?

In CPU demanding titles yes, but it shouldn't be a huge issue if you already have both.

I suggest you go through these links if you want to educate yourself a bit more on bottlenecks and just the general performance of the FX chips + high end GPU's.

Ah, just bought it for editing, games i usually play are maplestory, dota 2, csgo, lol, 2k15 nba, skyrim, and gta 5 when its out. can't afford a lot of games sadly. Thanks for links tho

so the higher the resolution the more it stress the gpu?
