Lol... PC is much better.

Not only can you replace everything inside if you want to, but you can also do work on it or play much much more games.

There are also emulators where you can play ps3 on your pc, if your specs are good enough.

There definitely aren't any ps3 emulators, good try though.

Depends on the purpose of its use. For gaming only, the PS3 won't be too bad as Sony still supports it and games look alright on it. The PC won't be good for much gaming, but can do a billion other things that the PS3 just can't do, so it depends on what you need it for.

Edit: and as mentioned above, the PC can be upgraded in the future, which at that point it wrecks the Xbox Two(lol) and PS5.

Buying a ps3 now isn't a good idea, the latest gen ps3 is terrible anyway, Sony cut as much as they could in the costs of producing them. And i have had my ps3 for 3 years now, and i hate the restrictions and limitations Sony put on it, like game audio doesn't work on the USB ports, which is a greedy attempt of Sony to get you to buy their crappy headsets. And Sony is trying more of this BS with the ps4.

So go for PC, even if it's an extreme budget build. Or you'll get to hate Sony sooner or later.

Depends, do you get a lot of games with the PS3? If you don't, get a PC, because games on Steam sales are much cheaper than PS3 games.

It depends. If you have a computer of some sort (even if not a gaming pc), then probably the PS3. It has a pretty damn good library of games during its life and they should be pretty cheap by now. If you don't have any sort of computer, the gaming PC is a no brainier.

Normandy - Intel Core i5 3470, 8 GB Corsair Vengenace LP, EVGA GTX 960 SSC, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, WD Blue 1 TB, Seagate 320 GB (steam), Seagate 320 GB (experimental, second OS, etc), Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 14.10

Garrus - HP Stream 11

For 250$, the PS3.

However, if you can wait you can save up from 250$ and get a good computer. But if you have a strict budget of 250$, get the console.

250 dollars is not a sweet spot budget.

Well if he could save up, then computer builds wouldn't be a problem and are obviously a nicer choice. :)

I however took it that he has a strict budget and on 250$, the console would be a better choice.

Depends, if you want a pure gaming machine NOW get the ps3, the computer isn't going to look very good for gaming at 250, but if you are planning upgrades and don't mind having a poor experience now then it might be worth getting a computer
