If its labeled Windows.old then you can go ahead and delete it if you got all the files you wanted from it.

Im going back to win7 cause I don't need this shit. Win8.1 sux anyway I might upgrade to win10 when it comes out...

 

 

It only does this if you just install windows over a partition that already exists. If you delete the partition and select unacollated space to install windows, it will not do this.

Just simply do this. Delete your partition and make a new one when you install windows 8.1.

Tried safe mode and/or live-linux yet? I've got same problem on one folder but it doesn't bother me... yet. I have deleted everything else in there but one file.

Use Disk Cleanup if it gives you that permissions error. Works for me all the time when doing a fresh install.
