I'm 16 and need to buy my own vehicle fairly soon and only have about $1250 to spend on a car / truck, my friend has a 1994 Chevy S10 LS (Automatic) that he is willing to sell to me for $1200, he bought it for $1000 and has gotten new tires for it, a new stereo, and has fixed a few dents it had (Tailgate, bed of the truck) and it drives quite nice, it has about 125K miles on it and I need to know if it's worth my money or if there is something better I could get for my money? (I've driven it a few times and love it, just not sure if I can get something better for my money)

Here are some photos of it

Last April - http://i.imgur.com/uP0j8M4.jpg (He has since gotten new matching tires all around)

Around July - http://instagram.com/p/r2Vq9AO0b2/?modal=true (Here's a general shot of the side in the summer, I would fix up the mirror nicely)

Thanksgiving Day - http://instagram.com/p/v6q-v6u0Vo/?modal=true He let me drift it around a parking lot a few blocks down (First snow of the season), and it drives quite nicely. (Even better than my family's 2006 Impala with less than 50K miles on it)

I'm just curious as to if there is something better I can get for this Indiana weather at 16Y/O for $1250 or less?

Do it.

LET OUT YOUR INNER BOGAN

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

Take it for a test drive. Park it somewhere and check for weird engine rattles or weird noises(while driving as well).

You should also check the under side of the car.

Try to get it on a lift to check if there are welded metal sheets under it. If there are some, its because it had issues with rust.

If you can't, ask him for honest information. If it seems fine go for it ;)

It looks nice and well looked after but, yeah, do get it checked out as thoroughly as possible as you can. You don't wanna come across any nasty surprises. If it does all check out and is perfectly fine, then go for it my friend.

It's a steel! <— See what I did there? :D

Yes, do it. Chevy trucks are not only awesome, but they are sturdy cars.

Just be sure to test drive it first. Not to say your friend is a liar or anything, but there might be something he just doesn't know about/notices that you do.

Get it on a lift and inspect the underside. Give the engine a good once over. And give it a longer test drive with city, highway, and rural roads.

If all is good get it. :)

Get it lifted first and check the condition of the underside of the thing...

Take it for a test drive and see how it handles and sounds...

It's pretty cheap for a nice vehicle imo...
