Safe voltage for i7-4790K

What's the highest voltage I should be using on my 4790K?

My voltage is pretty high compared to what everyone says, but it has an acceptable temp under stress testing... Should I worry?

For 24/7 Use 1.3V would be my max. For some insane OC just to get a benchmark score or show off, 1.4-1.5V.

I've experienced degradation with Haswell above 1.35V. I personally wouldn't go higher than 1.3V for continuous use.

1.3V is the recommended overclocking voltage for actually using it every day. Although you can reach 1.4+ while staying under safe temps, it will cause chip degradation to happen quite a bit quicker when going above 1.35

I'm using 1.38 but my temps never hit over 70C, should I change it or should I just leave it? It's been running fine for a week or so

edit: just read a couple other posts, I'll see if I can lower the voltage

and will continue to run fine at that speed\voltage for years and years and years

See if you can stay stable at the same clocks with 1.35V

If it never goes above 70 then it is fine, the more voltage you put in the cooler you want to keep your chip. Thats perfectly acceptable what your at now.

It's in windows with 1.35V, now I'm using using Intel XTU to test (I think AIDA64 is over exaggerated)

Intel XTU and AIDA64. Intel XTU never went over 80C, and AIDA 64 was around 87 C. I meant that when testing all of my games, none of them went over 70C.

If it's stable at 1.35V then it's worth it to keep it at 4.8@1.35 then downclock to get something stable at 1.3. However of course this is if the clock speed increase will actually benefit you.

That's personally a bit higher then I'd like it. You want to keep it under 80 with AIDA64, maximum 85.

ok, it's stable with 1.35V so I'm going to just leave it at that.

Btw, do I need to register a warranty or do I not need to do that?

The rest of my house is 70 F, but my 290X's make my room a lot hotter so I'm not sure
