I think microsoft just threw Windows 10...

 

New icons, nothing bad here ...

I just hope there is an option to turn tiles off. That would be most sensible

You can make the part smaller where the tiles go. I saw it before. @Opcode posted an image of it a few days ago.

 

I dislike how it all looks blended. There is no distinction between the search bar, the menu or the taskbar in color. No divider, nothing. What a horrible decision.

Windows 10 is still in development stages. We haven't even hit the Consumer Preview yet meanwhile Build 9926 is an older build. We are already onto Build 10003.

That's because the pictures I posted were from a much earlier build.

 

I have no access to build 10003.

Nobody does, tho it serves as a reminder that Windows 10 preview builds are to be limited and buggy.

early stage plus there should be people who make UI changes for you to download so even if Microsoft wont put in the start menu, you should be able to download the classic look

I thought everyone just used Start8, a normal start menu, i don't see this as a bad thing since i won't even upgrade to this shit untill another Start8 for this is online.

Correct Windows 10 Build 9926 currently looks like this.

Eh....I don't like it. If the right panels can be shut off to look lie the previous screenshot, great. Also, I really hope they allow you to customize the start menu color and the task bar because right now it looks too bland.

Right now you can remove the tiles tho apparently you end up with what's posted in the main post of this thread, a big blank area. Tho I imagine this is just a bug that has already been fixed or will be fixed in future builds. As for the color yes you can alter the color of the start menu and task bar per usual. I personally like the black as seen in this video.
