If that is the M9, I'm disappointed, they have done very little to improve the looks of the phone (I guess why change it, if it works) , apart from the camera. And I'm guessing the internals will be a better CPU/GPU maybe more memory and a bigger battery.

Looks like a bigger screen.

Now that I think of it, I want to give HTC a try, if the HTC One M9 comes in a GPE version I will heavily consider it as my next phone.

It's no problem, just try to include more information next time. Oh, and welcome to the forum! :)

It shouldn't really be surprising that they're working on another one. I mean, they do put out a phone every year, just like every other manufacturer ;)

They're apparently also working on a bigger phablet sized one.

Just curious, what would you have done to improve the looks?

Apparently the screen size remains the same size.

Just curious, what would you have done to improve the looks?

The black M7 looked a lot better.

My problems with the M8:

Corners are rounded too much.

Speakers take up too much space.

The back is too slippery.

The bezels are somewhat huge and look terrible on the silver or light grey phone. Wouldn't look as bad on a black phone.

Anodizing is not as durable as it was on the Desire HD/ Inspire.

The battery is joke for a phone that was made for media junkies.

I much prefer the look of the Lumia Icon/930. It would be the perfect phone for me, if it ran Android and had a hinged opening on the bottom edge that lets you swap out the battery. If not hinged, then it could be held in place with rare earth magnets.

Also, HTC never released the promised ICS update for the Desire HD/Inspire and it seems they are taking their time with updating the M8 to Lolipop.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

"it’s not certain whether the phone will replace the One M8 yet, or live alongside it"

It won't live alongside the M8 as its a discontinued phone.

I'm actually a little bit disappointed, I wanted something different and this is more of a downgrade because that camera is extremely ugly and it really need to not exist in the final product.

Color is too much of a personal thing to really say that it's a worse decision.

For example I'd absolutely love an antique brass colored phone. But it won't happen.

They chose the natural color to show off the aluminium build. Black would have masked that and made it look like virtually every other phone.

I like the rounded corners. I have a Nexus 5 and it's started to wear holes into my pants.

I believe the next version has addressed your bezel and speaker size issues. It's supposed to be a smaller device while keeping the same screen size.

I agree about the battery. I wish they'd put the biggest battery they can in. I do think they upped it in this version though. Slow progress.

It takes months to get the build out. It's not something they can just flick a switch and do. Lolipop really hasn't been out that long.

I quite like the 930 as well, it's just a shame the OS isn't quite there and the battery life is apparently absolute shit.
