Unsure what to do next

Lays

Hi, I have an Asus Xonar Phoebus sound card, and after like 5-8 hours of my PC being on, I get tons of crackles+pop noises, almost like a CD skipping in ALL of my sounds/music/movies etc.

So far I've tried switching PCI slots, double checking power connectors, re-installing drivers, I sent it back, got a new one and it still does the same thing.

Note: It does this on both my 5.1 surround sound AND my headphones, so those aren't the issue.

What do I try next? Do I RMA my PSU? Do I send it back again?

My power supply has been causing coil whine on my 780's, it also caused it on my titan before I sold it as well. <--- ( I think the PSU was the problem)

I'm unsure if it's the power supply but I don't really know how to check.

Could it be the motherboard? I haven't had any issues at all with it, so I don't think it's that.. Also I don't have my front panel audio plugged into the sound card, because I don't use it. Could that be an issue, because I can't imagine it is lol.

Are you talking about the PC in your signature? If not, what PSU and M/B are you running? Have you tried googleing "asus xonar phoebus M/B name" ? That might give you an idea about others having problems with your particular setup.

Does the sound card get hot? Although unlikiley, it might be the problem that it's overheating.

Yeah I'm talking about the computer in my sig. I can't imagine it's getting hot, my room stays cool and I have a 230mm and 200mm fan blowing intake air onto it+ my gpu's

Seeing that both the sound card and the motherboard are from the ROG product line, I can't imagine an incompatibility between those two.

You could test out another PSU to see if it helps, but I know Corsair PSU's to be quite decent so I doubt that it'll help.

My advise would be to talk to Asus on this one. Maybe go post on the ROG forums and see if they know the answer?

As you have already RMA'd it, I think it isn't a faulty hardware issue. But if it is, you should be able to get another RMA, yes

I RMA'd it through amazon and not asus, so I think asus would let me, but IDK
