Do you have a budget and also a list of games you play, the 280 is pretty powerful mate I would probably just stick with it

There's no real reason to upgrade from an R9 280 at 1080P. Plus R9 280 is about as much as the FX series CPU is capable of driving.

But next time try get in the appropriate subforum :)

Your parts are balanced and should offer satisfying gaming performance at 1080p...i suggest you save your money for a next gen GPU and a good intel core i5 CPU.
You could upgrade to a R9 290X or GTX 970 but your CPU will limit the card's performance in many games...i'd stick with what you have and save some more to do a full overhaul later personaly.

3500 Danish Crowns, about 300-350 dollars. I wanna play a bit newer single player games and probably the new Battlefield, when that comes out :)

I see no reason why your current video card can't pull it off mate. I'd stick with it

Nvidia or Amd, it's personal preference, desired features and game dependent (future games unpredictable). You might/likely run into issues of your cpu holding back performance, dramatically decreasing the upgrade value. Also, as others have said, even if the the cpu didn't holdback an upgrade performance, a 280 upgrade may not be worthwhile in a value sense.

Either way, at least a 290 of 970.

Edit: Battlefield, 970

Battlefield Hardline uses the same engine (and many of the same assets) as BF4. If the beta was to be believed, it's going to run about the same. Meaning the R9 280 is an excellent choice for it at 1080p.

The GTX 970 costs about $340–$360 in the US, and chances are Danish prices are going to be higher than a straight currency conversion (they are in most of Europe, anyway). You may have trouble finding a meaningful upgrade within your budget. I suggest you should wait longer for more compelling cards to come out and drive down prices.

Thaks a lot, saved me a big chunk of money that could be used to an CPU upgrade :)

Performance can always change, of course. But I think DICE are preparing to announce another open beta for Hardline soon. Keep an eye out for that announcement, as it will be a good opportunity to see how it performs on your system.

@iAveex

As with the other comments, your gpu is fine. As for the cpu (from other topic that got hijacked by fanboys) it is sort of up to you, but if you upgrade, it would likely be better to move on to intel (i5) as people said, since the higher amd fx will not give you much increase in performance.

If you want, you can just work on getting a nice stable oc with your current cpu, keep running your gpu as is and hold out and see what comes out during the year. You really don't need to upgrade as of yet.

Still new, but learning
