Alright, So i've been deciding whether I should get 2 970 G1 Gaming cards | OR | 2 980 G1 Gaming cards...

 

I well like If i get the 970's i'll be missing a lot of performance..

but at the same time I feel like buying the 980's is a huge waste...

 

Someone decide for me please..

What monitor do you have?  What sort of monitor do you plan (not hope) to get?  Is this just gaming, or are there other uses that you'll tax a GPU(s) with?

And what games, or kinds of games do you play?

3 970s? I think thats what linus did in his 1k Gpu video

Edit if not I think 2 970s will be fine

I play on getting 2 - 3 Monitors.

 

2560 | 1440 | 144hz WITH two 1920 | 1080 | 60hz monitors

 

OR

 

2560 | 1440 | 144hz with a single 4k Monitors | 60hz

Latest AAA Games @ 2560 x 1440 @ 120 - 144hz (I'm fine with turning down quality to achieve that) 

 

| Currently I have a Alienware 2012 M18x and it can play a lot of higher end games / intense games but it bottlenecks itself from all the heat,

2 gtx 970 are already good enough and the gtx 980 only has a 10% bbetter performance than the 970.
