New ASUS MX27AQ 2560x1440 AH-IPS WQHD Monitor

Geekazoid
Go to solution Solved by Geekazoid,

Just to note, I'll update this news thread if any new information is released.

Monitors like this just look so good, makes it a difficult choice between aesthetics and ergonomics.

Yeah, I hear ya ;). I'm gonna have trouble choosing between this monitor and the BenQ GW2765HT for this reason.

Looks like a decent price for 1440p + IPS.

I would like to see it a tad cheaper consider that doesn't have a fully adjustable stand.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

144FPS looks significantly better than 60FPS

I think I'd have to experience this myself to be able to agree with you.

Of course, but personally, I can tell the difference.

So the answer to your question of "who needs 144Hz, can you actually see it?" is me, and many other like me.

Linus did a video of it. I'm at work so can't post it, but he can also tell the difference between 60Hz and 120Hz in games.

Im comparing USD to USD. If that monitor is going to be 500$ USD and the PB278 is already cheaper what makes you think that this new monitor will be cheaper?

Well, there are some who won't be worried about that and that is who this monitor is aimed at, but I get your disappointment. It would be good if they did include a VESA mount. I don't think it be that hard. I actually think there's away to VESA mount displays that don't have a VESA mount. I just can't remember how. Just search Google. :)

Yeah I agree, this is more of a "design" monitor, less of a "utility" monitor. Still having a framework that can support 4 screws on the back doesn't seem all too much effort, but oh well.

I'm not a big fan of this kind of design anyway, I want all 4 of my bezels to be the same size, otherwise in portrait it looks odd.

I'm not going to start a debate mate. I hate them. I didn't say anything about the MX27AQ being cheaper, if you look at my post. I don't know where you got that from . Unless you're asking me in general, yes?

Exactly! :)

Maybe it would've made it more expensive, knowing ASUS. I don't know.

Well, I kinda agree with you there. Maybe I'll stick with the BenQ GW2765HTs that I have planned for my build.

You should. 144hz is sooooo much smoother. If you have them side by side it's crazy. Even mouse cursor moves smoother without skipping frames.
