there is no price drop here in the uk all shops 7970 are still at the same price £289 for the cheapest card

Tigerdirect updated their prices, these are not deals , they are generalized price cuts.

AMD is getting ready for something, something big !

Sapphire's 3GB 7970 was dumped down to 2500 NOK in Norway (ca. £260) at two different online stores but that was the only one.

If you get a MiR you can probably do 7970 CF for the price of a single 780 now.

Their GPU division is, as far as I know, turning a profit. It's the rest of the company that isn't.

They also reduced the price of the 7950. But yes, you can run a 7950 together with a 7970 (at least, you used to be able to in previous generations), however the 7970 will be forced to run at 7950 speeds.
