What would be the best GPU for F@H at the moment. I know the new GTX 900 series do very well but they are quite expensive for me to get where i live. So for PPD per dollar what would be the best card

  1. PPD (purified protein derivative) skin test is a test used to determine if you suffer from tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis is a serious infection, usually of the lungs, caused by bacteria called mycobacterium tuberculosi that are spread by breathing air exhaled by an infected person.

Hard to say anything as we dont know your local prices...

So plz, tell us models that are in you price range with current price, after model name.

that would help a lot.

GTX 980 $900

GTX 970 $600

GTX 780 is $600

R9 290x $600

R9 280x $ 450

I'm looking for about $500 or below. I've seen some people say getting two cheaper cards will out perform one expensive card for the same price overall. That's what im looking for. Cheaper lower end cards that perform very well for their price

So we dont need to look for how much that system would take power from wall and inglude it to counting...?

Example: My current system(under nick just click it) with i5 4670K, GTX980 SC acx takes 220w from wall on full foulding. Before GTX980 i had HD7970 and the system take like over 300w. (..i may take more correckt reading of HD7970, before i take GTX980 under water..)

EDIT: Heh, Only one card under 500$ on your list...

EDIT2; So is it GTX970 vs. R280??

Edit 3: Oops Speak too soon. GTX980 seam to take 260w on wall meter when foulding 0x15(like now).. on gpu-z its close to 99% of powerconsum with it and 0x17 / 0x18 takes like70% so maybe driver thing ore something with these new cards or something..

My word of advice, just set a budget and get the best card you can for that price. Then fold away... if you blow to much to get a card that gets  a few extra PPD, you will be sadly disappointed when you get a hard WU and your PPD tanks...
