Hello everyone.I am starting my first computer build. I currently have my cpu, AMD FX 6300 black, my mobo, a MSI 970 Gaming, and my GPU, a MSI 270x. Its kind of a buy over time build, so thats all I have right now. Considering a Corsair Obsidian 450D, or a Rosewill Blackhawk for the case. A H100I for the cooler, Vengeance RAM just cause I like the look for the color scheme I'm going with. At a little bit of a pause as what size power supply I need, was thinking that a 600W should be fine for what I need, but if anyone thinks different, please let me know.

For power supplies, avoid the Corsair CX series. They have a pretty high failure rating. Any other series by Corsair should be fine! Anything by Cooler Master, Antec, Fractal Design, or EVGA also work.

The cable management in the Corsair case seems superior to that of the Rosewill case. I think if you choose to go with the Corsair case, you will also appreciate a full window with no fan bracket on the side panel.

Looking forward and good luck!

Thats exactly what I was thinking Captain Matt, I really want to be able to show off my parts. The Rosewill looks cool and all with the LED fans, but I would just be swaping them out for red ones anyway. And thanks for the tip on the power supply.

I have a CX-M series Corsair (600w) and it hasn't pooped or acted funny in the nearly 2 years I have had it. It is a good PSU.

But I would definitely recommend something by SeaSonic, XFX or EVGA as well. Particularly XFX.

Actually that's not completely true, the CX series are just a budget series. They are not the best, but they are certainly good

So just because your CX hasn't died yet, they're good? And I like how you say "Seasonic or XFX. Especially XFX". XFX IS Seasonic.

I know many people with them, seen many here too, and they haven't stopped working or become defective either.

You can buy XFX or SeaSonic separate PSUs, can't you? Which was my damn point. Pretentious snob.

Please, no name calling in my thread. I started this to let people know what I am doing, and to seek advise on things I might not have thought of. Like will I get any real advantage in using 1866 compared to a 1600. And yes I have watched Linus's video on this.

Okay, so the Vengeance RAM I'm looking at is very expensive, so I might be going with some GSkills, or maybe some Kingston.

Best thought right there. Vengeance ram is more expensive. I have GSkill snipper ram. GSkill or Kingston I approve of.
