Get a new PC or upgrade the current one?

Speedbird

Hi

So I'm not sure what to do first. Should I start saving up for a new rig or should I gradually upgrade my current one. The new rig will be this:

My current setup is the following:

Core 2 Quad Q8200 (overclocked to 3.3 GHz)

Asus P5Q Pro motherboard

4GB (2x2) DDR2-800 memory

Gigabyte GT630 graphics card

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 CPU cooler

2x1TB hard drives (one for OS and programs, the other for storage)

SeaSonic S12II 430W PSU

Some old case from 2004

I'm planning to do the following upgrades

  • SSD Boot drive
  • New case with better airflow (Fractal Arc Midi or Corsair 500R)
  • New graphics card (R7 260X probably)
  • Higher wattage modular PSU
  • A USB3 card (USB2 is too slow for me)
  • A proper Windows licence. I can't run Windows 10 forever for free.

So what are your suggestions? Should I build a new PC or upgrade this one?
