Don't you think it would be cheaper to construct an SSD as we know them now, than it would be to construct an HDD, therefore making the price of SSD's lower per gigabyte? I just a new Crucial MX100 512 GB SSD for my workstation and love it. Replacing my hard drive disk made me realize how light it was. I was amazed

prices adjust to offer and demand, thats how a market works. and we are getting to the point where ssds are actually cheaper to produce than hdds, and then the prices will adjust automatically. also the MX100 is a gread disk for the price.

The price for SSDs is dropping, but still higher than HDDs because of the small manufacturing processes needed to create the NAND flash.

Eventually it will become cheaper than HDDs when production speeds up to demand and the technology becomes cheaper to research and produce.
