G2A

thorpj
Go to solution Solved by thorpj,

Solution: i purchased through a different computer, i've got the key

I had a bit of a scare, when i tried to enter the key into Steam, and got an "invalid key"

It's a Uplay key :) so all is well, except... i have to use Uplay...

So i'm looking at buying Farcry 4 on G2A. Even 20% off on steam just isn't enough...

https://www.g2a.com/far-cry-4-uplay-cd-key-global.html#

I can buy it directly from G2A for 39.65.

I have 2 questions"

1) Do i still need to pay/use G2A shield, if i'm buying the game directly from them

2) Are they really legit? Whenever i visit their website i feel concerned... There must be something shady going on...

thanks

1) well it 100% gaurantees the correct code and it is only ~£0.80 so just grab it

2) well it must be legit if paypal has sales with it and youtubers such as ksi and pewdiepie support it

I get that they buy the keys in countries where they are cheaper. Lets not get into ethics here hey, i'll make that decision for myself later :)

potentially...

just like buying a car off ebay may potentially have its serial scratched...

Theres far more good transactions than bad on G2A and if you buy directly from them you dont need to use g2a sheild. ive bought multiple games from them, including FC4 and havent had issues

Im sure it was cheaper in the steam sale at one point, thats when I bought it

AFAIK if buying direct from G2A (not a market place) then you dont need to use it, though it might be worth it for peace of mind

Personally I do not 100% trust it, there have been incidents of them selling stolen keys, and with steam now cracking down on cheap 3rd world/russian keys etc some keys might not validate correctly (though I might be wrong)

I have also had friends have problems with keys not being delivered, or wrong keys etc

When I bought from them their delivery was quick, however I have had it where ive won a giveaway and the host gave me a code from G2A and the code would have already been used. I also have a friend who bought ArmA 3 off them and after 3 month the game literally disapeered out of his game library. It took him like a month to get it back as well...

It seems impossible until it's done.

But i thought that the G2A shield was to be used when you're buying from the marketplace.

I thought that when buying directly from G2A, i might not need it, because it's coming from them.

I dislike the idea of screen sharing with them, immensely..

it may be but i leave it on as i would rather risk £0.80 over £25 for the game and getting a code that doesnt work

thanks

1) no need if the seller has 100% rating with over 1000 keys sold

2) it is legit , since all they do is sell keys from their country because it's cheap , FC 4 is 12$ in India , i can easily buy it and sell the key to you

3) Don't trust the G2A haters , they most likely somehow got screwed by G2A, usually happens when you buy a key from low rating

I live in australia, so it's going to be a little more than 40.86 usd (with g2a shield)

When you buy any product, you need to check who the seller is. If it's G2A there's less of a need for G2A shield (not like it costs much though right?). You'll get a code.

If you buy from a seller, it'd be worth getting shield since you'll be provided with a gift link from someone else on steam.

There's someone in the marketplace with a 100% rating who has sold 83,194 keys. Wow....

I would say with G2A put the keys you get from them on a separate Steam account so if you have a problem you don't lose your main Steam account because of it.  Heck have individual Steam accounts for all G2A games you get. LOL

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Luckily this one is Uplay and not Steam, but i'll keep that in mind

Would Steam really shutdown someones account, if a game purchased from someone like G2a was in their library

people have 1000s of dollars of games in their accounts, to lose all that...

So yeah. You might be lucky and get away with no problems, but you might not as well. Good news is that they do refunds, although I've heard they ignored some people as well. It's all luck. You can take your chances or just buy from a regular retailer.

I wasn't lucky with my first purchase. Got my Shadow of Mordor game revoked on steam after a couple of days. They did refund me though.
