KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitor Noise/Hissing Sound

I recently received a pair of  the KRK Rokit 5 Gen 3. They make no noise once they are turned on but once they begin playing music they make high pitched hissing and static noise. The noise continues even after I turn off the music. They are plugged into a separate power outlet. On the other outlet I have mt computer, router, printer, and modem plugged in. The studio monitors are hooked up via a 1/4 trs to 3.5 mm which plugs into my motherboard audio on the back of my PC. My motherboard is a Asus Crosshair Formula Z. Any help would be appreciated.

Does this happen with anything else plugged into the onboard? Like headphones or another speaker? If not, the speakers you got might be defective and you should RMA them.
