D14 RAP: Why do we have to have fireworks? FFS my dogs are going mental because people need to ignite balls of explosive? WHY?

Yeah, the older you get, fireworks/firecrackers lose their fun factor... They were hyper fun for me years ago, not anymore... When my father asked me today if i wanted a box of firecrackers, it was an instant no... Hell, i couldn't even be bothered to go outside to look at it, and i'm pretty happy...

Our old dog never barked at the loud noises, don't know why just didn't.

It would be awesome to be a pyrotechnician for a living(not that there are many that actually do it for a living), then again I used to love chemistry.

Fireworks handled properly usually have setups where all there is are beautiful night lights and quite mild noises, they are usually lit by municipalities away from residential areas. This I perfectly agree with.

Now for distributed pyrotechny among regular people, in my country there is an immense amount of illegality made and sold products without any quality approval or certificates, which leads to every stupid person in town to buy and ignite them. Each year we have an astonishing (not astonishing me) amount of injured and burnt people, the very mediocre health services get saturated and we are left with nice cocktail of death and material damage.

Besides this, many of mentioned not-approved products are extremely noisy (well above the healthy amount of dB our bodies can tolerate), it harms users and neighbours. Animals in general (dogs, cats, birds, etc.) face very bad times including a ton of deaths caused by collapses and hearth attacks. The worst part being that the owners of the dead poor creature are not the ones buying and launching the explosives, but the usually nearby douchebag neighbour.

As you can tell, I'm not happy at all about how my government manages pyrotechny at all. I'd be pleased if the thing was something like 'you pay an extra pretty small tax, and your municipality will give you a nice properly executed firework show', while on the other hand they improve and enforce the law to end once and for all the current home-handled explosives situation.

and on second thought: i only find fireworks that dont produce a ton of noise amusing like fountains and individual firecrackers but one year...*flashback* some neighbor went to some other state with less strict fireworks laws and bought a roll of 16000 firecrackers and lit them all at once in the street i'm glad they moved away
