@OP There really is no definitive answer for whether you'll need one or not, because every output source is almost always different, and unless someone has the exact same motherboard / phone / amp as you, it's hard to make good recommendations.

 

In 90% of situations, the HD650 most likely won't need an amp, because it's very sensitive.
