Just found out my PC wasn't grounded! Help!

So I got a new surge protector that tells you if the outlet was grounded or not.  It said my outlet wasn't grounded, but I didn't understand because it was a three prong.  Well, apparently the 3rd prong wasn't earthed, so my PC has been un-grounded for a whole year now.  I have an electrician coming ASAP to earth it.  I know its not a faulty surge protector because I tested newere outlets in my house and it worked just fine.  I have been inside my computer once or twice thinking my PC was grounded so I wasn't worried about static.  If anyone knew a thing or two about electricity, that would be great.  My computer still works fine but I know most of this stuff can happen over time.

Don't use it until it's grounded. If PC works then static didn't do any damage.

Most things aren't grounded. Laptops for example almost never have three prongs. Only two. Same goes with my phone's adapter.
