Thin Gaming Laptop (Yes I have built a PC but I travel a lot)

Hey guys and gals!

I am in need of a pretty solid gaming laptop

Now I know that people will say to build a PC, but I already have!!! I just travel a lot for work and I can't bring a desktop PC 99% of the time.It needs to be thin and fairly light, I can bring a laptop cooling pad if necessary for extra cooling. It needs to be relatively "future proof" for at least 3-4 years hopefully the latter or more.

It needs to be at least

i7 4710HQ

16 gb RAM

1 tb HDD

GTX 970m 6gb

at least 15.6 in diagonal screen but no more than 17 in

1080p 60hz

and it would be nice to have an SSD OS drive

Needs to have decent battery life, at least 3 hrs while web browsing

I have been looking at these laptops

Aorus X7 pro:

MSI GS60 Ghost Pro-064:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152686

The x7 pro is about the max of my budget, but I would like it to be in the under $2000 range. I can splurge to get the x7 pro or a laptop of equal or lesser price if necessary.

Any other Recommendations for laptops?

Gigabyte x7

Asus n550

Lenovo y50

Msi ggs60

Those are good starts, not all match your requirements but hit most of them so should be pretty good.

Why 16gb ram?

16gb ram because it is relatively future proof and I can have a lot of tabs open and be playing games, while skyping, and possibly livestreaming!

Okay. On those pc's without ssd's that do have odd bays you can get this to put an ssd in

(Things like the g551jk or y50)

Do you recommend any other laptops that are thin that won't overheat and throttle?

Aorus X7 Pro for sure!

I'm sure Lenovo Y50 is bang for buck. But as you need, it doesn't have 970m onboard.

But its pretty good to drive any games. Also you can wait for a month atleast to get the next version of Y50. Worth the wait!  :)

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.
