I was impressed how many times the i3 beat the six core and eight core cpus in modern games.

The FX 6300 didnt win a single round.

Anyways I will leave this analysis here for you guys you might find it interesting.

PS: Im prepared to be called a fanboy just for stating the facts.

i3's have gotten much better while AMD's six and eight cores have, well, done nothing; so no surprise there.

i would love it if Intel did an unlocked i3

They'd have to drop the prices on their i5's or increase their performance drastically as unlocked i3's would be overpowered.

Still in some instances the i3 beat out the 9370 , thats pretty shameful right there.

inst the 9370 like 300 bucks?

Man i loved AMD cpus so much when i got my phenom II but this proves that for gaming they aren't worth it for now.

They aren't even good for budget builds since the i3 beats out much more expensive cpus at this point.

this!

and i would love intel would stop disabling hyperthreading just to take moar money.

i5s are there just because they put it there to take money. they have disabled hyperthreading.

i3s would not be overpowered because there would be no i5s.

yep, intel wants munay and consumers have to suck it up with lesser performance and empty wallet.

I just want i3s without the goddmaned integrated gpu , must people that buy intel cpus for gaming wont be using that crappy igpu.

Intel make cpus without igpu and sell them cheaper...

Intell is selling different i3 skus at 100 mhz clock intervals ( i3 4130 , 4140 , 4150 , 4160)

They would lose money if the i3 was unlocked.

A bit greedy but ok.

Well at the end of the day it's a business, I think that their current prices are just fine if they want to continue to grow. Unlocked i3's would require major changes in their lineup as it would render locked i5's useless and unlocked i5's a horrible value.

Just my 2 cents.

AMD FX 6300 at stock in those benchies so who gives a ****!

So what , if you want to OC the 6300 you need a good chipset mobo and  a cooler , for that price you can almost buy a locked i5.

Its and apples to apples test , if you need to OC the 6300 to get even close to an i3 something is wrong.

What about versions of the i3 without igpu?

What do you think about that.

i think intel is maximizing profits and dont care much about consumer. If they did, they wouldnt milk the 100mhz boost or disable hyperthreading and similar.

AMD is doing it right. We have both APU and CPU. Unlocked versions of all of them.

Now i dont know if they were forced to do that to stay competitive or if they do really care about consumer, but at least from consumer point of view, thats great.

Allthough i definitly dont give em credit for fx 9590 lmao...

Very true , but still intel still makes the best gaming chips and we have to subject ourselves to their shitty business practices.

Those extra cores are meaningless if they aren't being used for performance-sensitive tasks, and that's still quite rare. There's every reason for two very fast, Hyperthreaded cores to do better in the vast majority of current games.

People say that when DX 12 becomes common place games will use more cores , it will take about 2/3 years for that to happen and still im not seeing every game using 6+ cores consistently event then.

Multithredead programming is a pain in the ass and most devs dont bother .
