Whats a good professional video camera

Go to solution Solved by Egoist,

Panasonic GH4. 1080p 96 fps. 3840x 2160 30 and 4096x 2160 at 24.

Budget is somewhere around 1500. Would like it to capture 1440p video or 1080p 60fps.

I have the G6, but I would do anything to get a GH4. That camera is so awesome.

Intel 4790k | Asus Z97 Maximus VII Impact | Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16 GB 1866Mhz | Asus Strix GTX 980 | CoolerMaster G550 |Samsung Evo 250GB | Synology DS215j (NAS) | Logitech G502 |

OP also wanted 1080p/60fps. The BMCC only goes up to 30fps (even on the 4K models). The Pocket Cinema Camera is ~$800 now, but again, 1080p fastest framerate is 30fps. The only thing with the GH4 is that just the body is $1500. If OP needs lenses, that's not going to work so well. The G6 is probably going to be the best value for 1080p/60fps.

Also, @spartaman64, 1440p is a screen resolution, not video/motion picture frame size. 720p, 1080p, 2K or 4K are the common production resolutions.

Indeed it will; and that's a mighty fine lens. Definitely go with the GH4 since you already have that. If you need some other lenses on the cheap though, legacy lenses are easily adaptable to m4/3.
